Jack Turns 4 !!!
On Tuesday my baby boy officially become my big baby boy! He started the day off with strawberry waffles, then went to school and shared birthday donuts with his class, and that evening we celebrated with Nonni and the Uncles. We had Mexican rice and tacos at Jack's request, presents, and Thomas birthday cake (of course). On Friday Jack and Daddy went to see Disney On Ice and had a fantastic time!

We erected the tower crane for the Austin Courthouse project a few months back and I finally had an opportunity last week to get up to the top and shoot some pictures of downtown Austin around the jobsite. Our crane operator was good enough let me harness-up and send me out to the tip of the jib in a basket that is attached to the trolley, this allowed for some flexibility in photo-taking.
Wildflowers in the Hill Country
Today John, the kids, Nonni, Uncle Mark, and myself went for a drive into the country to see all the spring wildflowers that are blooming right now. Everywhere we looked were breathtaking blankets of blue, red, white and yellow. The most popular flower is the bluebonnet, which happens to be the state flower. Nestled amongst the bluebonnets were also Indian paintbrush, buttercups, and prairie verbena to name a few. Our first stop was in Llano where we had a delicious lunch of amazing cheeseburgers at the Stonewall's Pizza, Wings and Things. After a walk around the town we dipped our feet in the Llano river. On our way home we found a gorgeous field and took advantage of the many photo opportunities. A typical outing of ours is never complete without a stop at Dairy Queen, so we ended the day with some sundaes and root beer floats. At DQ Jack spotted a jolly old looking biker behind us with a white beard and a cigarette (which you can see behind Jack in the last picture), and insisted it was Santa Claus...and yes they heard his comments and had a good laugh! It was a good day :)

Church Easter Egg Hunt
Today we went to our church's Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had so much fun! Jack enjoyed a train ride, jumping in a bouncy, planting flowers, and seeing goats and bunnies. Lily did a great job collecting four eggs at her first egg hunt. I think her favorite part was getting to wear her special dress and shoes :)
