Pet for a Day

On Saturday we found this sweet little puppy running around the neighborhood, so we put up signs and played with her all day long. By the end of the day the kids had named her "Darla" and had plans on making her our family pet. I must add that John and I had grown quite fond of her and shared in Jack and Lily's hope that she could stay. But, around 7 pm the phone rang and our fantasy came to an end. Little "Zoey" the Chiweenie had been found by her real family!

Messin' around in the Garage

Jack likes to spend time with his Daddy while in the garage. He wants to know what all the tools' names are and what they're for. He took a fancy to this bicycle pump today. Better this than the hacksaw he was also partial to.

Going to the Circus!

Last night we took Jack out for pizza and then to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He absolutely loved it! It was a great show! The circus was two hours long and was full of amazing acrobats, a human canon, a dog show, elephants, and tigers just to name a few of the acts.

Trip to the fire station!

Last weekend we went to a friend's birthday party at our local fire station. The kids got to take a complete tour of the station, the firemen's living areas, and go inside the fire engine. After the tour we all headed to a nearby park and ate cake. The kids had a great time!

Fourth of July

For the fourth we went to Angleton, TX (right outside of Houston) to visit our friend Tony and Misty and to meet their baby Derek. We stayed with them at Misty's parents house. They have a beautiful property with lots of land, horses, geese, cats, chickens, a lake, and a tractor. Jack had a blast going on a boat ride with Uncle Tony and getting to paddle with his very own oar, and going on a tractor ride with Misty's Dad. We had a great time eating amazing brisket, ribs, sausage, salads, beans, fruit, cakes and cookies. Daddy and Tony put on a fire works show for everyone at the end of the night. Lily was scared so she and I stayed inside. The next day we had a beautiful drive home through the lush and green Texas country towns.
